Top 3 Reasons to Make Sure Your Child Sees Us Every Six MonthsWhen it comes to modern health care, prevention is usually better than a cure. This principle also holds true in the world of dentistry.

Most, if not all, dentists usually tell a patient to go and see them after six months are done. The same also applies for children.

During their infancy, the body is growing at a rapid rate and there are changes in every aspect of the child; it's also true for their mouths. A dental visit usually involves two parts; the oral exam and cleaning the teeth afterwards. Seeing the dentist every 6 months is important for a variety of reasons. Some of which include;

Looking Into the State Of Affairs

When most people look in the mirror, they only see rows of pearly whites. However, we have specialized training, we are able to properly assess the health of a child's mouth and take the appropriate measures to fix them. The checkup will include looking for any tartar or plaque on the teeth. The next item to be examined is the gums which will be investigated for any signs of gum disease.

Cleaning Teeth

If any plaque or tartar is found, it has to be skillfully removed. If plaque is not removed as soon as possible, it hardens and becomes tartar which is cannot be removed by simply brushing the teeth. As such, we use some specialized tools to get rid of the problem. After that, the teeth can be polished to eliminate any surface stains found on the teeth for a richer smile.

Fixing Advanced Problems

If the initial checkup reveals some advanced problems such as cavities, cracks on the tooth or anything else, it will require us to perform some specialized treatments to fix the issues. In the case of cracked teeth, a sealant can be applied, and cavities can be eliminated. If the problems involve alignment, then braces can be attached.

Visiting us every six months is crucial in maintaining your child's oral health. If they keep the appointment, we can look into any problems that arise and fix them before they become worse or permanent. If you have any questions or concerns, please make an appointment with us and we'll address all of them.
